~~ Fab'n'Funky ~~~

Hi folks,

Hope this finds you well.
Not a great start to my day as my laptop updated windows last night
and this morning I only have a black screen...grrrr.
I dusted off my old desk top that is painfully slow
but I did manage to get this post pre-scheduled.

Time for a new challenge at

"Fab'n'Funky Challenge #469"

hosted by our lovely, talented team mate Susan
who has chosen the theme
"For a Child"

I've used an image from a LOTV art pad.
Image has been enhanced with some pencils to make it more vibrant.

Used  MFT stitched dome die to create the shape.
Stars are an old Sizzix die
Sentiment stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink
DP - MFT

Hello everyone,

It's Team A's turn to post this week for
Our lovely host Jay has chosen the theme "Anything Goes"

I've used a favourite image from LOTV to create this birthday card for our daughter.

I'm still digging out after our move but I did manage to locate my sewing machine.

Sail away....

Hi everyone,

I'm happy it's Friday...how about you?
The week has gone by so fast...is it because we're all caught up in the World Cup?
I love the excitement it generates...and yes I'm in fear of loosing my voice again.

We might find some time to attend Ribfest this weekend.
Sunshine, best rib contest and cold beer for the boys
...ahhh summer....doesn't get much better.

Okay..on with my card. I ordered a few LOTV art pads recently.
Taking the advise of a few of my craft buddies I touched up the image with a little colour.
Perhaps I'll try coloured pencils next time.
I followed the Sketch provided by Digi Sketch Challenge

The paper is Whimsy Stamps - By the Sea collection
and the sailboat die is also from Whimsy Stamps.
The clouds were cut from felt using a MFT die.
  Sentiment created in Word.
I tried sewing the white felt but since it kept sliding around I only completed one side.
I do have a love/hate relationship with my sewing machine.

The inside is finished as well.

Leaves at the Fab'n'Funky Challenge

Hi everyone,  It's my turn to host the Fab'n'Funky Challenge this week and I've chosen a simple theme that should be great for fall ...and that is "Leaves".

Our fabulous sponsor is StampArt Designs by Kathryn
What a difficult decision choosing my digi as Kathryn has so many wonderful images that are perfect for this challenge.   I finally decided on Fall  Fairy Wishes because she is just too darn cute!

Image was coloured with Copics. The leaves are from the Dollar Store.  I stamped the corners with LOTV corner stamp and embossed them with Ranger Queens Gold satin finish embossing powder. The dp is from Paper House ..the great outdoors mini pad.
I tilted the image as I think she is soaring in the autumn breeze.  I do get carried away....

There are a lot of autumn themed challenges that I would like to enter:

Wedding at the Belle Challenge

Hi everyone,   I hope your week is going well and that you're enjoying some great, almost summer, weather.   I had a fabulous day yesterday.  I went cross border shopping with a friend and it always includes a visit to the wonderful Buffalo Stamps craft store, JoAnn's Crafts and then lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  I picked up some of the new Graphic 45 papers and a lot of bargains as well.....came home a very tired but happy shopper!  Can't wait to get crafty with my new stuff!

Today starts a new challenge at the Belle Challenge and the theme is Wedding.

I've used a favourite LOTV stamp called Wedding Couple that I coloured with Copics.   Sorry about the wonky photo. This one really gave me a challenge. After many tries, and different backgrounds,  I still was not able to capture the soft mint green colour very well.

Here is the front of the easel card.  Aren't they a cute couple!

I've used a lot of dies for this card, starting with Marianne Designs Anja die for the base white outline then the scallop die for the green portion.  Using the largest die of the Spellbinders Small Cirles, I cut out the center of the green sheet and added the lattice which was cut using the Spellbinders Basic Lattice die.   I then added the green circle, I had removed, behind the lattice.  This layer was added with dimensions onto the white and green layer that was machine stitched using zig zag.
The Martha Stewart ribbons are both from my stash, with the exception of the white lattice ribbon on the inside.  That was a gift from a friend..thanks Helen.  Flowers are WOC and pearls from my stash as well. Sentiment is a rubber stamp that I'm afraid I don't know the mfg.

I intend to enter the following challenges:
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Wedding
Inky Chicks Challenge #6 - Love
MIM #145

Thanks so much for stopping by and your lovely comments are always appreciated.

Take it Easy.....it's your birthday!

Hi everyone.  I'm back with another card that I've made just for fun.   I always need masculine cards so thought I would colour up my new stamp from LOTV called Take it Easy that you can find here.

I've pulled a lot of items from my stash for this one and it always feels good to be reducing the pile.
Papers are from Graphic 45.  Buttons are BasicGrey.  Ribbon and mesh are so old I've forgotten their origin.  Tag is Spellbinders, HB is computer generated.  Coloured with Copics.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Fawn ~Another Christmas Card

Good day everyone,
Hope you're all having a good weekend.   We've been glued to the box watching the olympics...starting with the fabulous opening ceremony.  007 was my favourite part along with the childrens choirs.....that brought tears to my eyes...I'm strange... I know!

I took a break and coloured a Simply Gorjuss rubber stamp called The Fawn, using taupe, close to cocoa, white and a little peach.  A different colour combination for Christmas for sure but I'm happy with the outcome.  The Santa Claus Express label is from LOTV.   I've used SU close-to-cocoa ribbons, along with a satin pleated ribbon and velvet peach ribbon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Rhinestone circle is a Prima, pearls from the $ store.  CB swiss dot folder used to emboss the mat.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges
