Christmas in May at Fab'n'Funky

Good day everyone,

I hope your week is going well and that the sun is shining for you today.

We've a new challenge starting today at
and as this is the last Wednesday of the month that means it's Christmas Time
We'd love to see how organized you are with getting those Christmas makes done early.

We are fortunate to have two wonderful sponsors this week

and

For my card I've used a digital image from Delicious Doodles called
"a Robin's Christmas" that can be found here.

Now this is a Teddy's aka Santa's view of Christmas. I won this lovely decoupage image and had fun putting him together ...no cutting, just punched out the layers...so easy.
I coloured A Robin's Christmas with Copics  then cut a Poppystamps "Grand Madison Window" die to show this beautiful view.  I have to confess...I've had this die for two years and I can't remember ever having used it up until now.  I was looking for the right scene I suppose.  I dry embossed the "wallpaper" layer with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Ribbon was from my stash, berries from WOC.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Christmas Card Challenge #26 - Anything Goes
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - May Stash Challenge
Christmas Cards All Year Round - May Challenge - Santa
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll be back shortly
with a warm weather creation for TPS...see you soon.

Fab'n'Funky Challenge DT Card

Hi everyone,
I hope you're having a good week so far.
We're still in the grips of a cold front that doesn't seem to be shifting anytime soon.
It's been a long time since we've had such a cold, snowy winter as this one.

I'm hosting this week at Fab'n'Funky and our lovely Judith had the brilliant idea to have a Christmas challenge once a month....to help avoid the stress at Christmas and have all our cards ready. I was so on board with this theme because I was really scrambling last year.

We have the fabulous Delicious Doodles sponsoring this week.
I've used Four Calling Birds and went with non-traditional colours.
I'm so sick of all the snow and am really in need of a tropical vacation.....can you tell.

Image coloured with Copics.
Sentiments are cut from Graphic 45 Twelve Days of Christmas 8x8 pad
Tim Holtz Pine Tree and Tattered Pinecone Dies used
Fran-tage Shabby Pink Embossing enamel
Silk ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

I cased a beautiful card that Craftdee Donna made here

If you're looking for the Paper Shelter Challenge Blog Hop post please scroll down. Thank you!

***************************************************************************

Early morning for me here but wanted to get this card on before I start the marathon of Christmas shopping today.   Off to a Christmas party tonight so have to save some energy.

I absolutely love the 12 days of Christmas series
that Teri of Delicious Doodles created a couple of years ago.
This is the first time I've had the confidence to tackle these amazing images
because I wanted to make sure I could do them justice. I hope I've succeeded.
They work beautifully with Graphic 45 Christmas papers I think.

So far I've created 3 cards from the grouping but will have to wait until after I send out my cards to post...don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Digital image 12 Drummers can be found here
Coloured with Copics.

DT Card for Totally Papercrafts Challenge #183

Hi everyone, and happy Friday. It's been so much cooler here this week. I do love the sunny days and cool nights of late summer.   I'm off to buy some fresh Niagara peaches at the farmers market later this morning....mmm they are so good this time of year.   Perhaps they will find their way into a pie this weekend.

**********************************************************************************

We've a new challenge starting at Totally Papercrafts and our lovely Cathy of (Kraftykookat) would like to see Red/Black plus the option of white.   Our fabulous sponsor this week is one of my favourites "Delicious Doodles".   I've used an adorable image by Teri called "Panda Love".

I've made a gatefold card for a change.  Image was coloured with Copics C9, C7, C5, C3, C1 and a small amount of 100.  I dry embossed the red paper with M-Bossabilities Decorative Fancy Tags Two embossing folder.  I found by placing the folder on top of the BigShot Platform, adding 1 pc. of cardstock for a shim, then placed one acrylic plate on top it worked for me.  I wasn't going to buy the raspberry spacer plate since I am nervous of using my 2nd Grand Calibur after the first one broke.  I keep it only for my GC dies.  The corners were made using an old ProvoCraft corner die and the medallion is SB Lattice die.  Card measures 6x6 in.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
4 Krafty Girlz Challenge #1 - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps and More - Anything Goes
Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog - Animals
Make it Monday #156
Crafty Little Fairies Challenge - Cute n Cuddly

Thanks you so much for stopping by. We'd love it if you could play along with us this week - there is a great prize from Delicious Doodles for the lucky winner.

Hugs,

Father's Day

Hi everyone, hope this finds you well and that perhaps you're enjoying some crafting time.

We've a new challenge starting today at the Belli Challenge and the theme is "Father's Day".

I've used another of my favourite Delicious Doodles images called "Working the Land" and it can be found here.  I printed the image on Bazzill walnut cream cs and then cut it out using Spellbinders Label One die. Next I distressed very lightly inside the frame using Tim Holtz pumice stone distressed ink, then mounted it on Spellbinders Scalloped Labels One in brown.

The design paper is a sheet from Graphic 45 - A Proper Gentleman collection and I've been hoarding it for some time.  It is a 12x12 so I still have some left:)   My old items are the felt ribbon which was a SU clearance item, the burgundy corrugated paper from the Dollar Store, and the metal button.  I've added a Tim Holtz buckle (lovin these) and the chipboard buttons are from Graphic 45. I used my K&Company Label Maker to create the words.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
  1. ABC Challenges - Masculine
  2. Created with Love Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. Digi Darla Challenge #65 - Masculine
  4. Love to Create Challenge #68- Father's Day

Daffodils and Butterfly

Good morning to you all and a very   Happy St. David's Day !

I was so happy to see that my lovely team mates at

had chosen Yellow for St.David's Day as the theme for this week.
My wonderful, maternal Grandmother was born and raised in North Wales and I fondly remember stories she would tell my Sister and I of how beautiful "home" was.    We often talked of visiting...perhaps one day!

I've used a new digi called Daffodils and Butterfly on my card today and it can be found here.
The frame digital images that Teri creates are fabulous.
Even I, the sometimes technically challenged crafter, can easily add sentiments inside the frame before printing!
So pleased with myself and the way this card turned out...can you tell :)

Details:
Coloured with Copics
I printed the image twice, coloured one completely and the 2nd image was used to mount for a decoupage effect.  I created a frame with the yellow cardstock so the silver beads would fit snuggly inside.  You cannot see in the photo but the layer underneath the image is a light silver gray vellum with a pale yellow rose pattern.  Silver beads on a string from Michaels as well as the ribbon.

I intend to enter the following challenges:
LEJ Designs Challenge - For a Lovely Lady
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #85 - Blooming image

Year of the Snake

Good evening all and welcome to another blog post.
We're expecting "snowmageddon" tonight (to quote my daughter) so the girls are preparing for a "snow day" tomorrow.  Great fun when all the neighborhood kids come out to play and enjoy the snow.

Here is a gate fold Chinese New Year card that I created for a dear lady that has worked with my husband for years.  During the New Year celebrations she turns the office into a feast, bringing in new and wonderful delicacies daily for everyone to enjoy during this special holiday.

The serpent on the front is a request I made to Teri of Delicious Doodles and it can be found here.  I was so excited when I saw what she had drawn and thought it was perfect for a Chinese greeting inside.

The serpent really is not pink....it's Chinese red irl...must be something with my camera again...hehe!  I used gold Smooch to give him some bling.  Gold mirror card for backing, corners and SB Marvelous squares. Coloured with Copics.

Here's a look inside:
I used a digi from Bugaboo on the center panel.  Chinese greeting done in Word as well as the sentiment.  DP Graphic 45 Bird Song Collection
