C.C.Designs - Cupcake Birgitta

Hello folks,
Can't believe it's Monday already!  The weekend just flew by with not much accomplished but we did have Sunday dinner at our DD's, which is always a treat.  Then back home to watch "The Game of Thrones".   We are all hooked on the show and can't wait for Sunday night!
On to my card for today.  It's a C.C.Design digital from All That Scraps called Swiss Pixie Cupcake Birgitta. I've had it for sometime now and it's been a favourite for birthdays.

Went a little out of my comfort zone here with all the "stuff" going but am getting used to it.  I brought out my Memory Box Floral Circle Die as well as my Grand Nesties Label One.   I'm liking the Tombo Mono Aqua liquid gue to adhere the fancy cut dies. It has a small tip that's easy to control in the small areas. The sentiment is from SU - DP from Michaels - clearance.   Coloured with Copics.   I ended up having to cut out the image because my colouring ran.  It's been awhile since I used Cryogen White and forgot how it can be unforgiving when you're heavy handed :)  Here is the inside:

Challenges:
Wednesday's Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes  - #116 - Anything Goes
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - #159  - Freebie Week

Have a good week and thanks for stopping by - your lovely comments are always appreciated.  Hugs, Pat

Sweet Pea - Peony

Happy Friday the 13th !!

I had myself in quite a state today because I was scheduled for laser iridotomy on both eyes...and it's Friday the 13th!  Oh ya, I am superstitous.  My lovely Welsh Grandmother, whom I loved dearly, taught me all the "dont's" and they have stuck with me   I even considered cancelling my appointment but I would have to wait another month so decided to forget what day it was.  But every news program HAD to mention it, didn't they!   So off I went with my DH, who is my support (and not superstitous).  Procedure is fast and just a little uncomfortable.   My vision will be blurry for about 4 hours so I've got a legit excuse for out-of-focus photography (lol).

Here is a card made with an image I love.  It's a Sweet Pea stamp called "Peony" that my youngest Granddaughter encouraged me to buy.   We would colour them in the mornings before I took her to JK/SK.  I do miss having her with me as she is in school full time now.

The black netting is from the outside wrapping around our Easter ham (which was completely sealed).

Two More Cards for OCS

Good day,
I have 2 cards to show you that I believe will be posted on the OCS blog today as part of my Guest Design spot.  This has been so much fun for me.

Both cards are on this post because I find if I post more than once a day, Blogger turns word verification on!  Learning as I go....

Now, on to my cards. The first one I think is perfect for the boys who like their toys.  Gotta love the Penny Black hedgehog.  Hop on over to the challenge at OCS and play along if you like.

Stamp:  Penny Black, Born Wild
DP:  MME, Miss Caroline, Dilly Dally
Spellbinders Sprocket die
Banner is Lil Inker Designs
Copics:  C01, 00, 09, 07, 05, 02
R29, 24, 22
G19, 21
W2, W00
E11, E01, E000, R20
B23

For this second card I used Justrite Stamps and several dies.  There are foam dimensionals between each layer.  I have a friend who needs a wedding card for a mature couple.  I'll see if this appeals to her or I'll colour something up - I have until May :)

What does not show up in the photo is that I cut the doily die out of the center of the  5 1/2 inch peach square, then stacked everything up aligning it in the "hole" where the doily was cut.  It gives it a nice look I think with the Bazzill Almond cream cardstock showing beneath it.

This card looks difficult but really it's not. It comes together very quickly.

Dies layered as follows from the bottom up:
Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Doily
Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Large
Marianne Designs Craftables
Spellbinders Standard Large Circle
Spellbinders Small circles
Justrite Stamps:  Grandmas doilies set
Versa Mark, White embossing Powder
Bow Easy

Both cards are 6x6

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter.  Hugs, Pat

Quick post today. Here is the get well card I gave to our SIL who had an emergency appendectomy on Saturday evening. The following day he became jaundice and is now waiting for a procedure to remove a gallstone. It's been a hectic few days but hopefully he will be able to come home tomorrow.

I put a comical note inside the card which made Mike smile.

Kenny K - Ryder Cole

April is finally here and I'm so pumped !   I get to do my GD gig at One Crazy Stamper....yeah!   I have been an online customer of Lora's since before her bricks and mortar store.  One day a friend and I decided to take the 45 minute drive to Bolton and visit her new location.  I took one of my cards with me to show her I was not just this crazy paperhoarder...no I actually do use some of my stash (insert grin).   Well, much to my surprise Lora loved my card, jumped on her computer and told me there was an opening in her GD positions and would I like to join.  Only one problem, I was not a blogger in early Nov.   So you see, Lora is responsible for the slippery slope I'm on (grinning again).  I'm a self taught blogger, which has been so difficult at times.  There is so much I don't know how to do but I have met some wonderful crafters and that is the best.

Now on to my entry for April's Challenge with a "Male" theme.  I've used the Whimsy, Kenny K stamp called "Ryder Cole".  I collect tags from clothing and used one on this card, along with a scrap of grey denim cut from a pair of jeans.

I have a wonderful image for you today from Krista Smith called Mad.  Now this siren screamed little black dress to me but with spring in the air I attempted to go with the current fad of colour blocking.  Not sure if I got it right but there was no turning back once I started colouring.   Here goes!

Wryn & Emmy

Hello friends,
Weekend's almost here...yeah!   I've been preparing a of couple cards for the April challenge at One Crazy Stamper where I have been asked to be a Guest Designer - my first....but I can't show you until the weekend :(

I did however manage to create this card using the cutest pair of friends called Wryn & Emmy by Tiddly Inks.   This was a dream to colour and I'm pleased with the outcome - even though it took me several tries at the layout.  I started making an easel card but as you see, ended up using my go-to the 6x6.  I cut each petal of the smaller dahlia toward the centre and then shaped each petal with my bone folder to get dimension.

Tiddly Inks Digital Stamp:  Wryn & Emmy

Hello everyone,
I was delighted to see that my card "Circus Trixie" was chosen as the "featured entry" in last week's Make it Monday Challenge.  Thanks Michelle for the honour - it's much appreciated.

I've been busy this week finishing up some projects and actually started on my spring cleaning...not my favourite job.  I'd rather play in my craft room ...grin!  I did manage to finish off a card using a digital from Mo's Digital Pencil called "Monday's Child b".

What a great Monday!

LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD

Hello folks,
Oh, I'm so excited....WHAT A GREAT DAY this has been so far!  I have been lucky enough to receive the Liebster Award from the lovely, talented Vicki from Sunshine Crafts .  Thank you so much Vicki - you have really made my day!  It's wonderful to know that other crafters appreciate and acknowlege my creations.   Thank you also to everyone who has chosen to follow my blog and I'm grateful for the lovely comments folks take the time to leave.

"The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favourite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."

Here's what to do on receiving your Award
1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3. Copy and paste their blog award on your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Blog award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve recognition.
5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

Here are my five blogs I've chosen to pass this along to.  They are in no particular order.

 Tammy at Tammy's Spot
 Shazza at Time To Craft

Thank you once again Vicki, who gave me this award.  Hugs, Pat K

Saturated Canary - Circus Trixie

Hello Folks,
Today is our Granddaughter Lauren's 9th birthday and we're going off to celebrate as soon as I finish here.    You'd think it was my birthday today I'm that happy.   I found out my card "Dandelion Girl" was listed as a favourite of the week on SCS General Stamping Talk Forum the week ending Mar. 11.  Thank you so much ladies.

This card I'm going to show you is Lauren's birthday card.  She loves dancing and this Krista Smith digital named "Circus Trixie" reminded me of her.  I think there is a little Cirque du Soliel in there too, don't you :)  It's also my favourite colour combination.

I needed to make a 1" deep box for this 6x6 card because of the rose. Usually my boxes are 3/4".

Kenny K - Rock Mama

Good Day,
Today's card is made with a Kenny K stamp called "Rock Chick".  The challenge at Kenny K asked for green and Mother's Day.   This is what I came up with.

I used an old paper pack from Making Memories called English Garden. Edges were sponged with Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough distressed ink and Antique Linen stippled on the image.   Happy Mother's Day is computer generated, then cut with Spellbinder Ovals.  The tag was a freebie and I did not record the artist, something I regret and have started keeping better records since I began blogging.   The tassel is from a friend who was doing a clean-out and I of course moved it to my house :)

Copics:  E01,11, 000, 0000, R20

Hello Folks,
Oh...sure did miss that hour this morning!  How about you?  I'm an hour behind on all my chores but as you see, did manage time to post - the pie for Sunday dinner can wait a bit :)

This card is for Allie, Mike and the girls to give to a friend they are visiting today who just gave birth to a new baby boy.   Oh to hold a new baby...what joy!     So here you have it.

The baby's name is Jackson so I printed the name on my colour printer to create the paper inside (something new for me). This is an easle card with matching box as shown in the next photo.

This is a side view.

I apologize for all the photos and long post but find it difficult to capture the layout in one shot.
