New year with Something a little Different

Happy New Year everyone,

I hope 2014 will be good to you all.
Since this is a new year I thought I would start off with something a little different.
I have to say I was thrilled with the outcome of this card but when I showed it to dh his reaction was a little different from mine.
I think he missed the colouring?

Paper is from my scraps but the wooden house was a sale item at Michaels...Recollections.
A2 size card

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge #75 - Ribbon or Twine

Love love LOVE your newest (incredible) creation, Pat! Did you die cut the fabric? I have not done that yet. Do I need to do something special for the fabric to cut through? Like put a piece of text weight paper on top? Your fabrics, papers and little house are so cute!
hugs,

This is so different to your usual style Pat - and a really fabulous make - I love to see designs with texture and inspiration that doesn't come from a picture ( and as most men have little imagination when it comes to things like that it's sometimes a bit thankless in the hubby dept!!) - but I love it - I'm starting to move into "different" ideas myself - I think it's a natural progression
Happy new year to you and yours - hope it's a good one hugs Judith x

Firstly, my hubby never fancies the cards I'm the most happy with, but it's kind of nice too since he can be really encouraging when it comes to ones I'm only half pleased with! This is different from your usual style, which I love, but I do think this one turned out different in a beautiful way. The texture is such a nice touch, and I like the kind of random feel this card has with its combination of colors and elements!

Hi Pat its a stunner that's for sure! Love the different textures and divine colours! My DH is usually encouraging but sometimes I can see he is not so keen on something I like - no accounting for taste (or lack of it lol)! Susan x

Love the stitching the shapes the material, the bow - OK I love it all.

Ne'er mind about hubby, they don't know everything, although I do understand, when mine says it's "OK" with that something in the voice. I start to look at what is wrong, but different views I guess.

that is Gorgeous! I love that color palette and all the elements. You've worked it beautifully and it isn't easy to do that, at least it isn't easy for me, I struggle with that stuff so I really appreciate how lovely and beautifully balanced your composition turned out.
Thanks for sharing it with us at Jellypark Friends.
