Lovely & Lace

Happy Friday everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at

Our lovely, talented Cathy (Kraftykoolkat) is hosting this week
and she would like to see Lace...the real stuff, not just die cuts on your creations.

For my card share I've used the gorgeous "Lovely"
by the fabulous Krista Smith of Saturated Canary
They are our sponsor this week and so kindly provided us with our digis.
Thank you Krista!

This glamorous gal can be found  here.
I really enjoyed colouring this one and am finally happy with my folds.
Practice, practice, and more practice! I had a lot of time to colour while hunkered down
in the air conditioning during the recent record breaking temperatures
....that and watching the amazing Alyces' colouring video definitely helped.

A friend requested a birthday card for her grown daughter and I'm hoping she will like this card.
I will however have a difficult time parting with it as it's my current favourite.
IRL it's creamier than in the photo which gives it a more vintage look.
SU Very Vanilla cardstock used....yes, I hoard that stuff!

The gorgeous lace was purchased from Buffalo Stamps on a recent visit.

The seam binding was a gift from a friend...thank you Helen!

Pleated ribbon from  The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, gold string beads from Michaels as well as the Recollections embossed gold dp.

SB Radiant Rectangles used for the tag with Fran-táge on the edge.

I've so neglected my MS punch-around-the-pages punches lately
so put "Embroidered Floral" to work on the card base.

Image is coloured with Copics. The dress is E50, E53, E55, E57.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
  1. Saturated Canary Challenge #48 - Glamour and Glitz
  2. Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge #13 - Metal
  3. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 217 - For the Girls
  4. Crafty Ribbons Challenge #54- Anything goes with ribbon
  5. Make it Monday #150
  6. Copic Markers Europe - Shabby chic
  7. MarkerPOP Challenge #27 - Lovely locks

If you like, please stop by the challenge at TPC, see the gorgeous creations made by the team and play along with us...we'd love to see you there.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated.

Sieze the Cake

Happy Friday everyone,

I hope you all managed to stay cool this week during the record breaking temperatures
experienced up here in the northern hemisphere.
There should be some relief this weekend for us around the Great Lakes as they are predicting our
back to normal 26-27 deg.C ..here's hoping there will be a break for you too.

For my card today I've used an adorable image by Lacy Sunshine called
I just love Pickles. My oldest granddaughter spent one summer at the cottage collected frogs.
She didn't get so far as to name any of them but did practice catch-and-release.
I know, I kept telling her she would get warts
but am happy to report they proved me wrong again.
I remember her Dad when he was a little boy rescued a bull frog from a bunch of boys who were up to no good. Perhaps this is where the attraction comes from. ...now on to my card.

The dp I've used is from a DCWV  12x12 pad called Nana's Kitchen Stack.  Many of the sheets are embossed and very glittery.

The adorable cakes and stands are MB dies called
Petite Cake and Scalloped Cake Stand.

A MB woven circle die was used under the sentiment which is from an acrylic stamp set, name is missing but I believe it's Hero Arts.

Copics were used to colour the image.  I remember the pinks are R89, 85, 83, 81 but did not keep track of the greens...sorry!

I will enter this card into the current challenge at
Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Christmas at the Belli Challenge

Hi everyone,
Hope you're having a good week so far.
....and will someone please turn the thermostat down....it's TOO HOT!
On days like this I only go outside to water the garden, then run back inside to the air conditioning.
Thunderstorms are predicted so hopefully things will cool off a little soon.

Today starts a new challenge at the

and for the next 2 weeks Darsie has chosen the theme

Christmas

For my card today I rummaged thru my boxes of Magnolia stamps and chose a cutie that's never seen ink until now.    She is Tilda with cross stitched heart and is from 2011 I think.

I really liked the wooden heart but needed to change it to match my design.  I first painted it with TH Tattered Rose Distress Crackle Paint, let it dry and then added Fran-táge.
The sentiment is from LOTV, stamped in Versafine Sepia.
Gold lace is Websters Pages...not sure where the ecru lace is from
DP is MME, Lost & Found, Market Street
Base is Bazzill Walnut Cream
The lush seam binding is MemrieMare
SB Layered Elegant Swirl added at the bottom.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Bridal Shower

Happy Saturday everyone,

Hope this finds you well and enjoying a lovely Summer weekend.

Last Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my Cousin's Son's fiancée and what a fun time.
The maid-of-honor and bridesmaids did a fabulous job of creating a memorable day for everyone, especially the bride-to-be.  It was my first time meeting her and she is lovely....can't wait for the wedding.
I wanted to make a special card to accompany the gift and here is what I came up with.

I've used an ADFD digi called Wedding Veil, coloured with Copics, fussy cut and added a piece of white netting over the veil.  Rhinestones placed where the dots on the image are located and yes, the not-so-straight sewing is silver thread.

The tag is a Magnolia die, sentiment done in Word.
Flowers from Michaels...a Recollection product.
Leaves are a PoppyStamps die called Gentle Leaf
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Silver netting cut from a 12x12 sheet from Michaels
Sequin ribbon from Fabricland
Two dies used behind the image are SB Radiant Rectangles

 Box was made 6 3/4"  x 6 3/4"
White paper was embossed with SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder then matted on pale blue cardstock, then added to Pearlized white DP.  White string pearls were added around the edge.  I use api's Crafter's Pick incredibly tacky glue - great for sticking flowers on as well.

I will be entering the following challenges:
  1. Papertake Weekly Challenge: Old swiss dot folder, New leaf die, Blue flower.
  2. Make it Monday #148
  3. Charisma Cardz Challenge #27 - No designer papers
  4. Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes
  5. Sister Act Card Challenge #15 - Anything Goes

I've used a Cheery Lynn Doily called Large Sunflower.  The shape is a Go Kreate Square Frame #260030 Frilly #10.  Image cut out using SB Romantic Rectangles. Banner is a Hanglar Stamp, with flowers and lace from WOC.   I used Hero Arts Prisma Glitter, Art Glitter #162 Just Peachy and Jewel Glitter Ritz, Sand on the wings.
