Baby blue

Good morning folks. Another frosty one here today with rain expected later.
Might just have to catch up on my ironing and perhaps squeeze in a little crafting time.

I've a card to show you that I made for a new baby boy.  It is very similar to a baby girl card I made last year that was a favourite of mine.  I had bought two pads of the Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection....so I wouldn't freak when I used up these gorgeous papers....yes, I do have a problem :)  But in all honesty this is the only company I buy 2 pads of their collections.. and only if I really, really love the set.

Spellbinders Grand Labels One used to cut the shape (before my Grand Calibur bit the dust), Spellbinder Antique Frame and Accents dies for the frame and edge.  Ribbons all from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and "Baby" is a Marianne Creatables Die.

Another Birthday Boy

Good morning all and welcome to another blog post.

I've another masculine card to show you today.  This one is for our twin grandson Jeff.  He wears glasses, is so proud of his goatee and loves his music so I thought he might like this image. Both boys have autism but with a network of  loving, hard working parents, family and sister who they adore, the boys have overcome many challenges and continue to be shining stars to us all.

Birthday Card

Good day folks. Hope all is well with you and yours.
My card today is for one of our twin Grandsons.   I'm hoping he likes the image as much as I do.
Although I'm not happy with my colouring I do like this cas design.
I coloured Kenny K's Col. Macallan  with copics and highlighted with pencils and gamsol.
Once I use the gamsol I have to remind myself not to go back with my copics as this will ruin the nib!

Now, how could you not love this face.....such a clown!
He wants you to think he is really tough...but that's not the case.
He dressed up as a pilot to make us think he flies in the air after that frisbee...but we all know better :)

Inside was finished using the same Basic Grey papers as the front.
I did print a miniature Col. Macallan the bottom of the sentiment layer.
Spellbinders Sprockets die used on the front
Sentiment from my stash.

Firefly Frenzy

Good day everyone and welcome to another blog post, this time for the

The theme for this week selected by our team mate Shirley is 1, 2,  3

3 - embellishments

We are sponsored by the fabulous

I've used a rubber stamp from Inky Impressions called Nicholas Firefly Frenzy and think he is the perfect image for a young boy who is into bugs...well aren't they all!  I just hope he doesn't mind the pink flower!   My three embellishments are: buttons, banner and fishtail.
I've been hoarding this paper pad. The photo did not pick it up but the flower and grass border on the bottom are actually spot varnished making it very glossy - looks great irl.

Coloured with Copics
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
DP - TPC Studio, Bugs and Butterflies
Buttons - Basic Grey and Jenni Bowlin Vintage Style
Fishtail Die - Die-namics
Pennant created using smallest die in the Spellbinders Nested Pennants

First Communion

Good day and Happy Friday to you all.
Are you ready for the weekend?   Hopefully the rain will stop and it will warm up a little!
We have a very excited little girl waiting for her big day tomorrow.
It's our youngest granddaughter's 1st Holy Communion so of course I had to make her a special card.

I coloured Mo Mannings adorable image called 1st Communion Girl and she can be found here.
I used C2, C1, C00 for the dress, veil, gloves and shoes.

Martha Steward Punch-Around-the-Page Cherish punch used to create the shape.
I had to adjust the box size to 6 3/4 inch square to accomodate the larger card.

The lace is an old piece from Wild Orchid Crafts and the banner is a hAnglar stamp that was stamped and heat embossed with silver.  Sentiment is created in Word.
The flower is from my stash...several years old so I'm afraid I do not know the mfg.  The die is a Joy Craft.  Image cut using Spellbinders standard small circles and Scallop circles.

Box front has a circle cut using Martha Stewart's new Circle punch, topped with two Spellbinder Blossom Two flowers and finished with another pre-made flower from my stash.

Inside sentiments created in Word,
Wording from SCS forum
cut using Spellbinder Small Oval and Beaded Oval
Pink vellum used on the bottom panel.
A .50 cent stamp from Michaels used to create the cross, stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.

The silver dp used was a clearance at Michaels...15 cents a sheet and I've used all three I picked up. Hows that for clearing out :)

Sorry for such a heavy photo post. This really did take me a long time to create but definitely a labour of love.

Spring Colours at Fab'n'Funky

Hello, I'm back again with my second post today, this time for

Our lovely hostess Jackie would like to see Spring Colours on your creations.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is

The sassy image I've used is called Troublemaker  and has been coloured with Copics.
In the past, pink and blue were my go-to-colours for this cutie but this time I challenged myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and colouring yellow.
The mix was Y32, Y35 and a small amount of YR24.
The gorgeous corners are cut using my new Spellbinder Gold Elements One die.
It was right after cutting the first two elements that I noticed the handle of my Grand Calibur did not have the same tension as before so I'm thinking these are the culprits.
I did manage to cut the second corner with several passes thru my Big Shot...phew!

Pastels at the Belli Challenge

Good day all.
Welcome to another blog post and thank you so much for stopping by.
I do hope your week is going better than mine. A little drama in my crafting world with a broken Grand Calibur.  I was unable to complete the inside of this card as planned because the plates and die are stuck in the machine. The handle will not move and there are bits rolling around inside! Yikes! Spellbinders customer service are looking into the problem.  If anyone knows of a better alternative to the GC, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

On the brighter side I was able to complete the front for our new challenge at the
  Belli Challenge

Darsie would like to see Pastels on your creations for this Challenge #167

I've used an adorable Tilda on my card today and she has been coloured with Copics.
Spellbinders Grand Labels One and Grand Decorative Labels One used for the shape.

For the Top layer I stamped a LaBlanche floral stamp in SU Certainly Celery then embossed with SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. These have been neglected for quite some time....how does that happen:)
Stickles Cotton Candy added to the flowers and butterflies
Ribbon from my stash
SB Back to Basics Tags - sentiment in Word
