The Fawn ~Another Christmas Card

Good day everyone,
Hope you're all having a good weekend.   We've been glued to the box watching the olympics...starting with the fabulous opening ceremony.  007 was my favourite part along with the childrens choirs.....that brought tears to my eyes...I'm strange... I know!

I took a break and coloured a Simply Gorjuss rubber stamp called The Fawn, using taupe, close to cocoa, white and a little peach.  A different colour combination for Christmas for sure but I'm happy with the outcome.  The Santa Claus Express label is from LOTV.   I've used SU close-to-cocoa ribbons, along with a satin pleated ribbon and velvet peach ribbon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Rhinestone circle is a Prima, pearls from the $ store.  CB swiss dot folder used to emboss the mat.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges

Fab N Funky Challenge - No Stamped Images

I hope you're having a good week and that the sun is shining for you today.

For this week's challenge #132 at

Fab 'N' Funky the theme is NO STAMPED IMAGES

hosted by our wonderful DT member Ginny and sponsored by Joanna Sheen

Anything look familiar ?... I went with my favourite Spellbinder dies again (until the next release that is :)  Antique Frame and Accents and printed the names of the couple in Word.

This is a wedding card that was commissioned by my good friend Carol.  The crochet ribbon, as well as the rose, are from WOC and the gorgeous bow and satin stripe are made with ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Pearl flourish is from my stash.

This is a 1" deep box to accomodate the height of the flower.  I used  Spellbinders, Parisian Accents border die for around the outside of the box. Although you cannot see, the top was dry embossed with CB hearts folder.

DP is Melissa Francis - 5th Avenue

Hi again,
I know...2 posts in one day...!  The first one was scheduled a couple of weeks ago but this one is current :)       I've been hiding in the house today...another very hot and humid one!   Enough with this heat already....but a good excuse to colour something up!

I've created this card for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #144.  They have a GDT call and I thought it might be fun to apply.   It would be a shock if I was chosen because there are so many wonderful designers that have applied.

I used Bronte Kisses and kept it CAS.   Hope you like what I've done.

For the card shape I used the largest die in SB Grand Templates Creative Book Pages Two, and the white layer is the second square in the set.  Both cut and embossed on my Grand Calibur.

Belli Challenge - Christmas in July

Good day everyone,

I just love it when challenges use Christmas in July as their theme.  It gets me started on my Christmas cards ..no last minute cards this year....I'm going to be prepared...."grin".

At the Creative Belli Challenge that's exactly what the theme is this time

Christmas in July

Remember you must use some of your old or forgotten stuff.   I coloured the ADFD digi called Christmas Presents and used scraps of paper from the past few years, together with some baubles I bought at Michaels on clearance last January.  The gray is Basic Gray from SU as well as the matching ribbon. I must admit, I have almost a full package of this paper....time to start using it!

I kept my card pretty CAS.  The gorgeous frame is SB floral ovals and the image was cut using the first die in the Grand Nestabalities, ovals set. The card looks much better in RL...sorry but the colours are distored in the photo...the background was sponged with TH Antique linen.

I will be entering in the following challenges:

There She Goes #165 - Christmas in July
Totally Stampalicious - Christmas in July
Lollipop Crafts #84 - Christmas in July
Hooked on Crafts Challenge #22  - Christmas in July
Dream Valley Challenge #36 - Anything but square

Take care and thanks for taking the time to visit.  Hugs, Pat K.

The flower was made using SB Blossom Two dies and the leaf is from SB Sunflower Set One.     The top flower is a Memory Box die called Cherry Blossom.  I sprayed each petal with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  The branch is MS vine trim.

Summer at the Lake - no card

Hi blogging friends,

Just a quick post today.   I'm so excited.....I've reached 100 followers.  Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to follow my blog.  You are all the best and I'm so happy I started this journey as it has allowed me to meet some very wonderful, talented crafters.

I don't have a card today but thought you might like to see how some guys spend summer at the cottage.     Here we have our grand-dog.....Hamlet.   Now as you see, Hamlet is a water boarder.....yep, he loves to ride on the boogie board!  Better than being left behind on shore, that's for sure.  Not too much of a swimmer though - best to wear the life jacket just in case.

Then we have Tegan, a bull mastif. She is Hamlets big sister and loves to give hugs. In this photo she is trying to convince our DIL to go thru her training routine with her...pleeeeease!  Tegan has her CD title and our DIL runs her own business specializing in companion dog training.

And last, we have a picture of our dog in the backyard.   This old girl gave us quite a scare yesterday.  We had a trip to the Emergency Animal Clinic.  Yeah...big bucks but we needed to get her comfortable as soon as possible.  I'm happy to report she is much better today!    The senior years are not always fun.   My husband and I have been very fortunate to have some wonderful dogs but this one is by far the best ...and most likely will be our last. No other will ever compare.

Thank so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the photos.   Hugs, Pat K.

We're Going on a Summer Holiday

Hi everyone,

It's Challenge time again at Fab 'N ' Funky and this week the theme is

"We're Going On a Summer Holiday"

Sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop

For my card today I coloured a digi from Digi Doodles called Beach Babes. I decided I would make a shaker card and used Martha Stewart microbeads to represent the sand.  It's been ages since I made one....first one I ever made was in a class about 5 years ago and I remember micro beads all over the floor.   I'm happy to say this time things went according to plan :)

I cut the circles with my SB Grand Nestabilities circles and scallops.   The image was colored with Copics and the shells are from Jolee.  Ribbon is MayArts tied using my Bow Easy. Acetate is from my stash.  Lace is from WOC.  A tutorial for Shaker cards can be found here at SCS.
DP is Melissa Frances 5th Avenue 6x6 paper pad.

Christmas in July - GD at SAS4K

Hi everyone,

I was invited several weeks ago by Karen from Send a Smile 4 Kids

to be a Guest Designer on their  'Christmas in July'  Challenge.
It was an honour to be asked - thank you so much for this opportunity!

The Sponsor for this Challenge is

The digi I have chosen is Snowman Broom.  Such a cute image with a very happy smile.   The DP is from Heidi Grace Designs..shimmer glitter paper.  Bow made with bow-easy - ribbon from my stash. Stickles - Star Dust used for some bling.

There is not a lot of my usual embellishments on this card - when they are going to children it's best there are no small bits that can come off.   I hope the "bling" will win them over as well as that happy smile on the snowman.

Hi again,  Two posts in one day....whoooo - I've been very busy :D

It's time for a new Challenge at

and we'd like to see Stars and Stripes on your project this week.

I've used a super cute image from one of our sponsors this week, The Paper Shelter.  She is called Cirque and I had thoughts of parades and marching bands when I coloured her.    Loved the big hair!     I used Spellbinders Banner Basics Two to create the tabs and SB Floral Ovals and Scallop Ovals for the frame.    You cannot see in the photo, but the stars on the top are plastic and the bottom one is felt with a little bling added.

Here are the Copics used:

I was unable to craft for several days due to a shoulder injury...but today I'm baaaack!   Hopefully, with a little physio things will be back to normal.   Thanks to everyone for your lovely comments - they really inspire me and are very much appreciated.

Today is Canada Day....and there are wonderful celebrations going on today and tomorrow at the waterfront.  Time to wave the flag, listen to some bands and enjoy a barbeque!     I was so pleased to see MayzyArt created a stamp called Canadian Pride just for us folks up here in the north.   I got a wonderful freebie as well with my purchase....love free stuff!  Here is what I came up with:

Sentiment is computer generated, leaf is part of a Provo Craft set and the embossing folder used was a TH.  The tag has a bow made with SU real red ribbon and embossed with a CB folder.
