I hope your week was a good one.  We've had a heat wave push thru but temps should go back to seasonal this weekend.   Nothing special planned so will just chill and try and get rid of this cough I've been battling.

Fab'n'Funky Challenge #273 ~ Recycle

Hi everyone,

We've a new challenge starting today at

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #273

Our lovely host Julieanne has chosen the theme "Recycle or Upcycle

I knew just what I wanted to use when I saw this theme.
I had saved some wrappers and bows from last years Christmas crackers.

I cut out a Xmas stocking from the wrapper and added a bow to the top.

I copic coloured a cute image from our fabulous sponsor Bugaboo Stamps.

This cutie is called Poppi Xmas Stocking and is available here.

The little stockings are actually buttons covered with a very soft felt. I found my Tim Holtz

scissors worked great in removing the backs of the buttons so they could lay flat.

Sentiment tag is from LOTV

MS tinsel glitter added to the hat 

So that's another Christmas card made....yeah!

Shhh......A Little Bird Told Me....

Hi everyone,

I hope you've had a good week so far and ready to enjoy the upcoming weekend.

I've something that's a little different from my usual styles to show you today.

I'm lovin all the Mixed Media creations out there now, especially the work

by the super talented  Pamellia.  Her work is outstanding and she has the most

wonderful tutorials.  My experience with this type of style has usually ended up in the

round file as they looked like mud. Today's share is baby steps but I'm happy with it.

I was able to get my hands on some Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and dies at SSS.

Jumping on the bandwagon I know but I LOVE these cute images.

I was inspired by this card by Sylvie.  I love the colours and background she created. 

I started with a 5x5 inch piece of hot pressed watercolour paper, ripping the edges.

Pulled out my much neglected Tombo markers and added them to an acrylic block,

misted with water and stamped on the paper.

I then taped a MB Texture Disperse stencil onto the paper and added Dreamweaver

Pearlescent embossing paste. This has a lovely shine.
In keeping with the pastel look, image was stamped with

Memento London Fog and coloured with Copic Markers.

Removed a section and added MFT Zipper die and a Prima vintage trinket.

Cheesecloth dyed with TH Evergreen Bough Distressed Ink and water and then

added to the back to peek out the top and side.

Hope your week is going well. 

 It's a hot one for us this week with plenty of sunshine....wish I could share!

After a lovely long break we are back at  

Fab'n'Funky 

with a new challenge chosen by our talented host Zora.  

 She would like to see a handwritten sentiment or doodling on your creation

and what fun this was for me.
