Christmas at Fab'n'Funky

Good day all,

I'm scheduling this post as always but will make it short as I'm off to bed.
Seems I've caught a bug that's been going round ....and it's the worst time of year...so much to do!
Our granddaughters are in a Christmas dance performance tomorrow night
and I really want to see them.

The new challenge starting today at Fab'n'Funky  is sponsored by
the wonderful Sassy Studios Designs
and the theme selected by our lovely Ginny is Christmas

Quite a CAS card from me today...
I've used a Memory Box die cut, backed with gold paper and left a strip of red
underneath one of the sentiments for interest.
The reindeer is from my stash as well as the red ribbon.

I'm sorry if verification is showing up on my blog. I've been in there and my settings are
set at no but it seems blogger is having issues.....hope it's fixed soon.

Thanks for stopping by today,

I hope you're having a good weekend.
It's been a busy one here but I'm in the spirit of the season so all is well.

I've another Christmas card to show you today and no I never tire of making
them.  I am fortunate to be on a team where we made them once a month this
year and that was perfect for me...I got my Christmas fix.
I have still so many images I want to colour....and so little time.

I've used another sweet image today from AuroraWings called Little Shepherd

The sentiments are from a set I purchased from Artfire TLC

4th Birthday Celebration at TPS

Good Morning fellow crafters and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop
This is in celebration of their reaching their 4th Birthday on December 8th.
It will be a two week Challenge and both Design Teams are taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us and this one is
"A Special Celebration" theme, which I know is extremely popular!!!!

If you have landed here from  Maria  then you're heading in the right direction
 - if not then you'll want to head on back to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to start again,
as you'll not want to miss out on this one!
Our Design Team have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images
available from The Paper Shelter Website.
Each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commenter a digi of their choice as well as the main prize,
details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot.

For my card share I copic coloured the very cute Tucan that can be found here.
He has been on my to-do list for quite some time as I think he is fabulous!
DP is Graphic 45, leaves are SB Foliage, flower from my stash.
The wooden fishtail has been covered with a piece of DP,
QuicKutz number and letter added to the top.
The turquoise paper is actually iridescent but the photo did not catch that or the
glossy accents added to the tucan's eye.
Sentiment computer generated when the image was printed.

From here you will need to hop on over to Sam's.
Don't forget to leave your comment for a chance of winning your choice
of one of the fab digis available in store.  Hop! Hop! Hop!
Good luck and hope you're enjoying it so far.

Fab'n'Funky Challenge #240 with Kenny K

Good morning all, I hope you're week is going well.

I'm here to tell you about the new challenge starting today at
Fab'n'Funky hosted by our lovely Wends who has chosen the theme
"Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy - Precoloured Images Only"
which means we would like to see
coloured digi's or toppers on your creations.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is KennyK Downloads.com
who have generously supplied us with our coloured digital images.
I've used Xmas Hottie which can be found here.

This is the first snow globe card I've made.
I changed the instructions up a bit but the basic is from
SplitcoastStampers and can be found here.

I don't use it very often but do love the look of acetate on a card.
The snow background was made by stamping an Impression Obsession stamp
called Spatter with versamark then adding Ranger Snowflake embossing tinsel
and heat embossing.
Spellbinder ribbon tag used underneath an
 Inkadinkado Merry Christmas stamped oval.

I'll be back in a few with my second post for today.
Thanks for visiting.

Blue Bird in Winter Card

Hi everyone,
I hope you're enjoying the weekend.

I joined the crowds at the mall today to take advantage of the black friday sales
going on and came home with a few more gifts to put under the tree.
Still such a long way to go though!

I thought I would post a card I made last week using Whimsy Stamps
Cardinal in Winter stamp from the Crissy Armstrong Collection.
So out came the Memento Ink...and my copics.

Now as the name of the stamp implies, this is a cardinal
...but I wanted to make him a bluebird and just love how he turned out.
The expression on his face is so cute..... he is really pleased with himself
..all bundled up for winter.

Finished inside as well.
DP is from LOTV Frosty Christmas pad
MB Pine Needle die
Silver paper and ribbon from my stash
SB Ribbon tag, computer generated sentiment

If time permits I think I'll colour up this cutie again but as a cardinal.

Back Friday shopping has begun for us so I got out early yesterday morning and

and best of all the crowds were light.
Still a long way to go on my list though!

I have two posts today, the first being this one for

Our lovely team leader Maria would like you to show some Metal on your creations.

I've used a pre-coloured image on my card
The Most Adorable Snowmen
 that can be found here.
These are fabulous for when you don't have time to colour
yourself and they really are beautifully done.
I printed my copy on glossy photo paper and quite like the effect
...adds a bit of shine to the card.   The metal I used is in the form of jingle bells.
These are actually brads that I found last year.

All of the ribbons are from Michaels.  DP is from Papertrey Ink
I'm using the fern die from Marianne Creatables LR0181

GDT - Crafty Hoarders Challenge #20

Happy Monday everyone,

I hope your weekend went well.
Can't believe December is just around the corner...yikes!
Do you have all your cards made yet?

Today is my last post as a Guest Design Team member at
 Crafty Hoarders Anonymous
Thanks again Gloria for having me
...you have inspired me to think outside my comfort zone
and what fun I've had.
The theme this week is

Challenge #20 Box it Up!
Your challenge is to create some sort of altered box.
You can create a box from scratch, or you can alter a pre-made box.
Your box can be made of paper, wood, chipboard, plastic or metal.
As long as you dig into your hoard to decorate a box,
you have met the challenge requirements!
The box does not have to be used as a box...
it can be used as  home decor
or for any purpose you can image.
Let's box it up!  Use those stamps, dies, and punches.
Show us the layers!
For my make I created a box to hold one of my special
 (lumpy) Christmas cards.
Box measures 6x6x1 inches.

Once I had my score lines on the top I folded in the sides
so I could cut out the center on my Grand Calibur, using SB Labels
Thirty-four then added an acetate layer to create a window.
SB Decorative Labels Thirty-four used for the green layer.
I dusted off my Spellbinders Mystic embossing folder
to create the top layer.  The tree was cut out of gold paper
(yes I've been hoarding that) using Dee's Distinctively
Snow Covered Tree die.  Rhinestones are Recollections.
Gold ribbon, the berry spray and plaid ribbon on the top
and around the sides are all from my hoarded stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting Musketeers Challenge #19 - Anything but a card

Hi everyone,
I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
I managed to sneak in some crafting time and so enjoyed colouring up this cute image
from Chrishanthi by ppinkydolls called I Love Christmas that can be found here.

I wanted to use up some very old Basic Grey plaid dp that I'd been hoarding.
(I have a thing for plaid paper) so that is how I came up with the colours
...a little different but I know it will match some home decor of friends on my list.

I pulled out some olive coloured vellum, cut some snowflakes and heat embossed
an old circle sentiment from StampinUp with gold embossing powder before cutting it out.
Corrugated paper was also from my stash.

Fab'n'Funky Challenge #236

Hi everyone,
I hope your week is going well.
We had a few snow flurries on the weekend... way too early for that white stuff but temps have warmed up a bit so we are back to fall.  It's taken me a while to get back in the swing of things after the wedding.  We had our granddaughter stay with us for a week, along with 2 dogs and a bird so our house was full of life and is now so quiet.
Today starts a new challenge at
where the theme is "3 Embellishments"

I've used a cute image generously supplied to us by our lovely sponsor this week
She is called Claudia Loves Christmas  and can be found here

My 3 embellishments are Ribbon, Rhinestones and Die Cuts.

I'm lovin the new MB Christmas dies, especially the Pine Needle used on the top, cut in red & cream. I also layered the new Plush Poinsettia Corner die on top. The Pine Branch is a Marianne die #LR0181.    Ribbon is Offray from Michaels
Another favourite is the Recollections Rhinestone Sheet, also from Michaels.
Image coloured with Copics.
DP and tag are Simple Stories Cozy Christmas

Inside decorated with tag from Simple Stories as well.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.
There is a great prize from our wonderful sponsor for the winner.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
