For a Very Special Boy

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead.
It was a cold one for us but the sun was shining
so hopefully it's beginning to melt some of the mountains of snow we still have acquired.

Okay..I've held it back long enough.....I'm so excited to show you my card today.
It is very special because it's for a wonderful young boy that joined his new family thru adoption this weekend.
I am so happy for the parties involved and shed tears of joy when I heard the good news.

I know he loves the outdoors, enjoys fishing so I tried for a woodsy theme
using cork, felt, jute and linen on kraft cardstock.
For the inside I created leaves with family names on them (not shown for privacy reasons).

Details:
MB Tree cut in cork
MB Fishtail cut in felt and linen paper
SB Grand Labels One die cut in cork
Clothes peg - Recollections (a gift from a friend)
String - from my stash
DP - DCWV

I would like to enter the following challenges:
IDIC Challenge #202 - Cards for a young boy
The Stamping Boutique - Make your Sentiment Pop
MIM #182 - Final Post (I am sad but understand)

Thank you so much for stopping by,
hugs,
Pat K xx

Gorgeous card Pat - a card for an adoption is such a special one (and one that I have only been asked to make once before)because it involves a new family member who is already a person in their own right - unlike a new baby who is new and unformed. Its lovely how you have taken his interests and his new family and made it special with this lovely card hugs Judith x

Awww how lovely Pat and such a wonderful story. Beautiful textures and love the idea of the names on leaves. My brother's sixth child is adopted and what a joy she is. When I think of the life she would have had (drug addict mother) and the fabulous life she has now living in sunny Florida with a loving family around her! Susan xx

A lovely card and from the description of the boy and his favorite things it seems you've picked the perfect theme for this card. Love the cork elements!
