Beach Babe

Well, for a crafter the unthinkable happened on Friday!  I was putting the final touches on the inside of London's birthday card...ya,  the one that took me over an hour to colour the hair, and I knocked over a glass of water on my craft table.  Did you hear the scream!   The lovely journal had black ink running all over it and at first I thought the image was okay, but that was only wishful thinking.  She had a very black eye!  What to do.....I had less than an hour before the party!    I quickly reprinted the tag (luckily I saved it on my pc) and that was no problem colouring, cutting and glueing over the ruined one.  But the eye..well I reprinted the image, coloured the face and found a section of hair that I could cut around and mount on the original image - saved just in the nik of time!   Not my best work but London loved it and that made everything okay!  And the lesson is....don't leave everything until the last minute.  But I'm like the cartoon Calvin and Hobbs quote  ...''You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet, you have to be in the right mood.  What mood is that - well last minute panic!''   :D

Now, enough of my tales - on with today's card.   I've used "Beach Babe" from Saturated Canary - isn't she cute!   DP is October Afternoon Cherry Hill with SU coral cameo and wild wasabi.  Dies are Die-Namics.  I turned the umbrella into a beach umbrella :)  ...and put a little sunburn on her nose!

Another gorgeous creation, love that umbrella - works perfectly as a beach umbrella :-) Glad you salvaged London's card - gives you that "sick" feeling when something like that happens doesn't it?! I used to do cake decorating, once I had an order all ready to go out, rang the customer to come and pick it up - returned to the room to see my then-four-year-old with the best pincer grip of decorated cake you've ever seen and a mouth full of icing! Aaargghh!! Patched it up and sent it out... what else could I do? Not a highlight of my cake decorating career, lol. Donna xx

Several car alarms did sound off in the area, that must have been when you lost it over there! LOL...eeek, I would have panicked, but it sounds like you handled it wonderfully and made a full recovery. :)

Super sunny and fun and colorful and beautifully organized card!

A gorgeous card, Pat - really cute, bright and summery.

I felt your pain, I'm sure we've all been there with a spilled glass of water or cup of coffee. But I loved your Calvin & Hobbs quote (I love all their quotes, lol). CoB
